Well somewhere outside of that imaginary hell, exists a real-world of hell that we humans call home. Despite those dreams of faraway places and what if worlds of imagination, resides some burden of responsibilities. Well, I shot for the extra credit to get a start on getting ahead of the ball on this next shot of mine. But whereas I look like an overachiever, what you truly see is that I’m a poor planner, and react and act upon primitive urges on some things unspoken. Like a publishing schedule for example.

And you get what we have here, a jumbled mess of wholesome goodness. Ok, so I may have gotten over-excited on one project while dragging my feet and find them scheduled to be released within the same month and out of order, once or twice…. fortunately, no one really pays a whole lot of attention when you are at the bottom of the food chain, like myself, for example. Thus, without much notice, I was able to switch the dates and not have anyone else notice. Good thing for those little things, bad things for my honesty to spill.

Hold the drum rolls, what the hell am I babbling on about? Two new releases and one revised edition release in a 30 day period or so. Amongst all that will be at least two blog tours, complete with readings, reviews, interviews, and other stuff of the fun and sort including free copies of this and of that, maybe even one or two signed items to promote these promised to be very busy upcoming days.

Somedays though we only subconsciously recognize the facts, we do see them materialize before our very eyes. What this stretch of time and my goals hope to accomplish is the release of two of my poetry collections: A Lesser Man and Born Hopeless with all the Answers and the release of the 2nd edition of 21 Reasons/Lies which was just released in February of this present year. As it stands the actual order of everything rolls out like this:

Friday, August 20, 2021– Release of the 2nd edition of 21 Reasons/Lies

Friday, September 24, 2021– Release of A Lesser Man

Friday, October 15, 2021– Release of Born Hopeless with all the Answers

These are the days I long to enjoy, fresh embers in what feels like a flickering fade oasis race to the finish line. Although these days are rare and are usually very short-lived, these are the flowers amongst the trash we seek out in our wayward reach towards fulfillment.

I’ve been gaining a lot of exposure recently from AuthorWeek for Ghost in the Reflection-Letters to Erin, my second full-length collection released in February 2020. I appreciate the amazingly great descriptions they use for their tweets which have been blasting out three a day all week long. So allow me to return the favor and say to anyone reading to give their e-zine a read and website a read through, it’s as the name infers about authors and recent publications, and has a pretty solid list of recommended good reads for one to check out.

Both Valedictorian of the Bottom-Feeders and 21 Reasons/Lies have been steadily gaining sales each week. I’m eager to read some reviews for either collection and both really need some reviews posted to continue gaining momentum of any kind on Amazon. So please, if you’ve read and enjoyed or even if you read and disliked either of the collections, please share your review of it on Amazon. The more reviews a book gets the more reads it continues to gain and I’m in the writing business, getting read is ultimately my end goal.

SO all this being said, I have a few promotions to announce. The first one is a free ebook giveaway via Amazon of A Footnote for Tomorrow. This will run from 8 am on April 20th, 2021…the two-year anniversary of its release and my writing debut after two decades of silence. This effort will come to an end on April 24, 2021. I encourage you to grab a copy if you haven’t already purchased one, granted it may be a digital copy, but you can’t beat the price….FREE! Of prices, Amazon is offering the paperback edition of A Footnote for Tomorrow for the great price of $4.81 USD. So, take full advantage of this, I can’t even get my own personal copies for that sweet of a price!!

The second promotion will be for the current release, 21 Reasons/Lies. It’s another Amazon/Kindle provided promo that will see the ebook at $0.99 USD for April 25 until the 27th, then at $1.99 USD until it returns to its regular price of $2.99 USD on April 30th. Again I understand it’s a digital copy, but it is still a copy. Take advantage of these promotions, save yourself a few dollars.

My third promotional effort of April 2021 will be a contest to try to encourage some more necessary book reviews to be written. Essentially to enter it will require a new review of either of my two above-mentioned chapbooks or either of my two full-length collections. My thought is that for every 10 reviews posted on Amazon in April, I will surrender a signed copy of my forthcoming third full-length collection, A Lesser Man, a few weeks in advance of its release date to the best-written reviews of my published works.

I will have some audio files to upload soon of a few of the poems recently released along with a meme or two I’ve created from those works. Keep your eyes open for those and other oddities in clothing I will be uploading to the store very soon. Happy poetry month! As great as it sometimes feels to get that release, it often becomes overlooked that possibly there are those who will feel stung by its bite or bleed from the wound of its words. As a responsible writer, one would retract and apologize for such things and observe as everyone moved along all happy and shiny and shit as they began their daily jog through their safe haven life. But part of me is that prick who speaks without care of consequence, without fear of not being everyone’s cup of tea. I tend to walk the path less taken and find my bliss inside those moments I tend to be the most lost. But WAIT, before anyone mistakes anything here, let it be clarified that thus far no such complaints have been lodged here about 21 Reasons/Lies nor would it require that much before admitting someone would not be wrong in speaking up with such a complaint. Except here in the reality of the world that I was born into and have had to walk through, there will be no such apologies made for me peeling back the veil and sharing the hell blessed upon this existence since its conception. Suck it up buttercup, no one gets out alive, but possibly there may be a bandage in your mother’s bathroom cabinet next to the Flintstone vitamins long since past expiration.

However, what this comes down to is that I feel that I can create an overall better product that better representation of my abilities, thus, the current editions will run until the 25th paperback has left Amazon. At which time, a re-release of 21 Reasons/Lies will occur. There will be in the final product 21 poems vs the current 16. and two of the “more harsh” poems will be removed from circulation. Those first 25 copies, well, they’re a sound investment if my writing ever materializes into popularity thus generating a lasting value for readership. Long shot probably, but we only live once, and only once can we dream and try to manifest that dream into the infinite sadness referred to commonly as reality.

To make identifying these 25 copies easier, the cover will also change. Look forward to a revealing of that new 21 Reasons/Lies cover in the coming week or weeks depending upon how long it takes to generate the sales of a book with little promotion and zero advertising. (Those luxuries are currently being preserved and reserved for the full-length poetry collections.)

Your consumer efforts delivered many days of double digit downloads, and to me this is a very amazing display, and I cannot say thank you enough.. Already starting 2021 off in a much better beginning and state of mind, both professionally and personally. I hope to see some new reviews from some fresh faces on all of the collections, especially the two most recent chapbooks. As of this moment in time, there has not been any written/submitted reviews for 21 Reasons/Lies and only a couple reviews for Valedictorian of the Bottom Feeders. If you have purchased and/or read these collections, your input is one of the most powerful selling tool available. Share your thoughts, etc. on these chapbooks with the world, they are awaiting.

In preparation for the next full sized collection of works, A Lesser Man, I am preparing to embark on development of a marketing plan and strategy. What works and what doesn’t? Of the previous book releases what method drew you to read or purchase one of my collections?

Of the new collection on a nearing date, I will be submitting some revisions to the book, a few of these changes are major, i.e. omission of a couple of pieces, the addition of a couple more deserving poems that will hopefully lighten the tone of the overall collection. Those who purchased kindle versions of the book will have the changes happen automatically. Those of you old school readers who purchased paperback copies will have the opportunity of having a first edition that is being limited to a very low number of copies. Sadly, you’d have to purchase the 2nd edition to see the changes made, which I promise will be very much for the better. Maybe one of my better gifts with all of this is that maybe one day that your investments in me may actually materialize a financial opportunity for you would be a welcoming thought to a grateful poet’s mind.

Today marks the release of 21 Reasons/Lies, my fourth release, my second little chapbook. This one is everything I was taught as a writer that you can’t write about because it was not a tangible thing: Love and Heartbreak. I tend to disagree that it is not tangible to some degree. If I count amongst my fingers how many people I am thankful for and love, then it’s more than just an intangible emotion, it’s an inventoried necessity.

21 Reasons/Lies shows another tangible side to emotion, disappointment, and remorse, or is that disgust? I’ll leave that to anyone who wishes to read it to decide for themselves. This is an extension on Letters to Erin and the end of my exclusively categorizing this subject as book material from my hands. The beautiful sadness. That is how I would describe it. Although, the bitter broken receptacle of falsified bullshit from another living human being would also work very well, depending upon which side of the coin you are looking at.

As we move to within a month of my next chapbook’s release date, I again find myself at crunch time rushing to put it all to the manuscript file and getting it sent off to be edited. Seems I expect different results yet reluctantly I refuse to change my approach to reach said results. Mankind’s approach to the changing of the ages appears so scarily familiar to my approach to publishing/writing…chaotic.

Welcome to history being made on all fronts, in our world, our lives, our world. How do we preserve our mark upon these pages? Is it really necessary that we do so? Yet who strives to not be remembered? We all want to reflect back like our lives mattered, that we were important, and in some rights, yes, we all individually mattered, we are the building blocks of the overall picture. Still we all at some point in our minuscule lives dream of being at the top, at being the best, at being cherished and eternalized in the pages of history.

My contribution will be deleted when I can no longer afford to dream or the world chooses to no longer purchase my works and in turn they become unnecessary and redundant. Well before we reach that point, which I am certain is very probable, I carry the hope that I can circulate enough of my words that maybe they reach the ears and eyes they need to. I would be lying if I said I didn’t hope each poem published or collection published wouldn’t be that breakthrough I am needing and praying for.

21 Reasons/Lies in my opinion is my better work of the works put forth thus far, at least commercially. Therein lies the issue, money. If I could afford to market it better the sales would come easily and automatically, but that isn’t the situation the manuscript gets born into. Thus, I have to depend upon the ones that my minuscule marketing reaches to purchase the book, then review it where it’s sold and on social media in hopes of possibly getting the next wave to do the same and so forth.

So again I will require the assistance of everyone. 21 Reasons/Lies is available as a preorder ebook on amazon, support this guy with a dream in his eyes and get it out of the way early and reserve some good reading for your kindle. Merry Christmas and happy holidays! I appreciate you taking the time to stop and read this blog post. I will try hard to not keep you tied up too very long. Thank you everyone for a sensational welcoming in and throughout all of 2020 and also for your continuing support of my first two full-length collections: a footnote for tomorrow and Ghost in the Reflection-Letters to Erin.

Thank you also to those who have already picked up my recent chapbook Valedictorian of the Bottom Feeders. Extra thanks if you are amongst those first few who have preordered the ebook version of my next chapbook 21 Reasons/Lies. It’s probably my favorite collection so far, at least from the reader’s side of the coin and I must admit, it’s getting harder to not release more of the material from that collection, but I know the trick isn’t to tip too much of my hat. Soon enough though and I’m very excited.

Lost in nonsense

The fifth book/third full-length collection titled A Lesser Man is scheduled to be released in August 2021. The collection will be the 4th installment of the Destined, but… series. It promises to be an excellent read that will hold its audience’s attention throughout. It will press the reader at some points to use thought while at others it’ll allow the reader to freely take the verse and openly interpret it as it suits their needs. Which as a writer is one of my favorite effects to have upon my readers.
